Mr. Walter K. White

For over 20 years, Mr. Walter White has volunteered his time and effort to enhance the morale and quality of life of America’s active duty, veterans, and military families. As a young man, he spent two years in the U.S. Marines as a Heavy Equipment Operator. For the past 21 years, in his professional role as a Supply System Analyst for the Defense Logistics Agency, he has been instrumental in enhancing the quality of life to troops in Afghanistan and Iraq. On his own time, he also fulfills requests and coordinates collections and shipment of morale and comfort items to the troops. In one seemingly simple – but strategic – project, he coordinated a shipment of stuffed animals to help soldiers build a rapport with the Iraqi people. In his community, for more than ten years Mr. White has posted the colors for veteran’s funerals, flag pole dedication, parades, and holidays. He also volunteers at several veteran’s assistance organizations, visiting veterans, assisting with small parties, distributing holiday gifts, and helping to ensure that all veterans receive the help and care they deserve. His commitment and service in support of our war fighting troops epitomizes the values of Mr. Bob Hope.
